golive tips and tricks
adding files to your site
Sometimes you need to add files created outside of GoLive to your site. This might be graphics edited in a photo editor, a part of the site created by other people, or pdf files you want people to download. There are several ways to do this:
- In the Site window I (Recommended) - In the Site window, open the folder into which you want to place your files. From the File menu, pull down to Import and select Files to Site... Use the standard navigation window for your OS to find the files you want to import. Command-click (Mac) or control-click (Windows) files to select more than one. You can also select a folder to import all the files in that folder.

- In the Site window II (Works well) - If you can see both the Site window and the desktop (which may be difficult in Windows), drag the files and/or folders into the Site window. GoLive will make a copy of the files and place them in the site folder.
- At the desktop (Not recommended) - You can drag the files directly into the site folder (or a sub folder) on your desktop. If you do this, however, you will not see the files the next time you open the Site window in GoLive. To make the files visible, open the Site window, click once on any file or folder in the window and select Rescan or Refresh View under the Site menu.
