A Very Fast Production Schedule

By way of Jim at TipLine, Apple has announced their Insomnia Film Festival for high school and college students.

On Saturday, October 13 at 9:00 a.m. (Eastern time), we’ll post a top-secret list of elements – special props, dialogue, settings – you get the idea. Choose any three to include in your movie. Then all you and your team have to do is write, cast, shoot, edit, score, and upload your 3-minute masterpiece within 24 hours. No problem, right?

The 25 films rated highest by online votes will be evaluated by some Hollywood heavyweights like director Barry Sonnenfeld.

The video judged best by either the public or the pros will get a pretty nice portable editing suite (aka a MacBook Pro with Apple’s pro line of video editing software).

Sounds like a good project for a few of your creative students with plenty of imagination and lots of caffeine.

It will also be very interesting to see the results of all that creativity.
