Over the past two days I taught four sessions for teachers in our district on using Windows Movie Maker. Anyone who tells you this software is "just as good as" iMovie has obviously never used both programs. The interface is clunky and inconsistent and the program has plenty of little bugs in it. Beyond the usability problems, the software completely lacks the style and attention to detail that Apple’s designers included in iMovie. The only reason to use the software from the Big Monopoly at all is that you are stuck using Windows. But Movie Maker is free – which I guess makes it just as good as iMovie.
