What a cool way to teach ancient history! By taking kids on guided tours through the places where the events took place.
Not ruins surrounded by modern cities. The locations as they existed in ancient times.
Researchers from the US, Italy, German and the UK are working to make that happen by creating an interactive virtual version of Rome circa 320BC.
Details of the project are on the Rome Reborn site along with stills, video clips, and links to lots of the information used to create the models.
Unfortunately, the portal to enter the world isn’t open yet.
