I was in line to vote at 5:35 this morning (polls open at 6 in Virginia) and was fifteenth in line. When I left there were close to 200 people waiting in line. In the twelve years I’ve lived here, I’ve never seen that big a line for an election, not even close. Politically, I have no idea what that means. I’m just glad to see so many people are actually voting and I hope it’s being repeated everywhere.
We (oregon) have vote by mail (or drop box). I dropped my ballot in a drive through drop box at 5 am this morning and still had to wait in line in my car. I was shocked.
Zogby is saying the results for Virginia could be a “surprise”.
If the turnout is large enough in the urban areas of the state, it’s possible for Kerry to pull out a win. In that unlikely event, he’s probably looking at a landslide rather than being close.
