Wired News has an interesting little article about one example of how bloggers are overlapping and circumventing traditional news outlets. At one session during a technology conference last week the “regular” reporters in attendance were told everything said was “off the record”. Two bloggers in the audience, however, didn’t get the memo and put a chunk of the proceedings on their web sites. I don’t know the meaning of all this but secrecy in news reporting always seemed like an oxymoron.
