A man described as “one of the top 10 spammers in the world” has been arrested and charged with 35 counts of every variety of fraud the Seattle prosecutor could think of.
While it’s always pleasing to watch crooks like this do the frog walk off to jail, I doubt it will result in less spam arriving in my email box, as some experts are claiming.
Electronic fraud is an easy, cheap, and very lucrative business. There’s always a new king waiting in the wings.
However, some part of the blame for spammers must go to their victims.
Without large numbers of suckers willing to suspend common sense and respond to the crap that lands in their email box, the whole business would cease to exist.
