Creating Ignorance

Yet another school system has decided the scientific method of investigation is just too ambiguous and unreliable for their students. A school board in Wisconsin claims the state law regarding the teaching of evolution is "too restrictive" and that the curriculum "should not be totally inclusive of just one scientific theory". So, they decided to allow the teaching of creationism – which we all know is a theory solidly based in legends and leaps of faith.

As long as we’re expanding the curriculum to include mysticism, I want to replace astronomy with astrology and dump chemistry for alchemy. And with the rock-solid theory of numerology, we can drop math too. Now, that’s an educational program that will let our kids compete with those students in other countries who foolishly study at the alter of "science".
