wasting bandwidth since 1999

Does Smart Alec Count?

The Blog Herald analyzed the ten most popular blogs and presents a list of five ways to imitate them. And, by implication, boost your rankings.

So, what do they recommend?

  1. Publish frequently.
  2. Have a team.
  3. Offer hot news.
  4. Have an attitude.
  5. Be visual.

For the score on this particular wast of bandwidth we get: depends on how you define frequently (ok, no), no, no, maybe, no.

I guess I’m not cracking the top 100,000 much less the top 10 anytime soon.

    Hi Tim,

I give you high marks for i, 3, and 4. Better than 90% of the other blogs I read. Hope you keep up the good work. I always look forward to your posts.

I don’t think we’re going to be breaking any records either!

Hey… if *you* don’t publish frequently, what does that say about my blog?

  4. Tim

On his blog Chris substitutes quality for quantity, which, as you might notice, was NOT one of Blog Herald’s criteria to land in the top ten. Probably means that neither of us is going to make a living from this blogging stuff any time soon. :-)
