Recently many media outlets were marking the anniversaries of two major events in American history.

It’s been 40 years since the birth of the Big Mac and 30 since the death of Elvis Presley.

At least I guess they must be culturally significant touchstones. Someone is opening a museum for the former and expanding the shrine to the other.

However, I’ve never had a Big Mac and I’m not a big Elvis fan (either young and trim or old and pudgy).

Does that make me unAmerican?
