Post education writer Jay Mathews has a good summary of the controversy over No Child Left Behind in today’s paper. Not much new here but one quote stood out as just plain insulting:

"I look at the angst in the school districts trying to deal with it, the principals trying to deal with it, and I say, ‘This is great.’ These people are thinking about how to improve the achievement of these children," he [Rep. George Miller (D, Calif.)] said.

I guess Mr. Miller believes none of us were thinking about this before Congress rode to the rescue.
