A few odd ends collected over the weekend.
Forget Wrestlemania. This is a fight I’d pay real money to see.
The California recall election has to be the most entertaining news of the summer. So far they have all manner of candidates, including a high school social studies teacher, according to this article in the San Francisco Chronicle. I wish him luck getting any message out there with the cast of characters they have running, or threatening to run, for governor.
I didn’t even know there was such a group as Beer Advocate but it seems they are upset that people consider beer a drink. They think it should be considered food and one of the major food groups at that. I’d ask what this writer was drinking but I already know the answer.
Jack Valenti is a very slimy character that stands out in this town that’s full of slimy characters. Jack is the chief lobbyist for the Motion Picture Association of America who, if he had his way, would make you pay every time you watched any visual entertainment, even that DVD you already own. Washingtonian Magazine says (scroll 2/3s down the page) he may be retiring and that there is a long line of politicians who would like his job, including über Republican, Arnold Schwarzenegger. I guess being governor of California isn’t powerful enough.
