We’re visiting family in a relatively small town in northern Arizona (literally a one Starbucks town) and it’s interesting being this disconnected for the first time in many years. With the large number of relatives and all the various family activities, I haven’t read a newspaper since the USA Today on the plane and haven’t had time to watch much TV news. As for the web, we are trading off using one dial up account (the only phone line, of course) among five people, one of whom is hogging the line all the time (you know who you are :-). So I haven’t been able to scan all the sites I normally would every day, sometimes more often. For a while being this disconnected felt strangely good but today I’m getting twinges of withdrawl, like I’m missing something. I may have to go find that Starbucks and rent a high speed line for a couple of hours.
