Ok, study fans – here comes one more. Another group of researchers with way too much time on their hands have concluded that suburban sprawl makes people fat – or something like that. They devised a number called a "sprawl index" that’s supposed to indicate how spread out the population is in an urban or suburban area, mixed it with some numbers about how fat people are, added some statistical voodoo and came up with their conclusions that people in suburbia are fat. Why is this true? One conclusion they arrive at, people living in areas of sprawl walk less than people in cities. Your taxes probably paid for that piece of common sense.
