Google is taking over the world! Or maybe it just seems that way.

At any rate, they are certainly trying their best to keep track of it all.

Last week Google announced they have added 54 countries to their mapping technologies, including double the coverage of South America and three times what they had for Asia.

The post on the Google Lat Long Blog goes on to say that this is just the beginning.

In coming months, we’ll be working tirelessly to add more detail to the existing countries in Google Maps, and we’ll also be adding new countries to the list.

Just that much more information for our students (and others) to mashup.
