Voucher Subsidies

No one is quite sure if the District of Columbia’s voucher program is helping the students involved but the money has been a big help to DC Catholic schools. Nearly 600 students brought a $3.5 million "public subsidy" with them, helping the archdiocese change its plans to close more than a dozen schools due to declining enrollment.

Public financing of private, religious schools. Schools which are not required to follow the rules of No Child Left Behind or any other state and federal regulations. Does anyone else see a problem here? Certainly not if you’re W and other fans of vouchers. It’s all part of the plan.
