The Post this week had an article about Freshman orientation at American University which included warnings about sharing/downloading music files over the school network and the RIAA’s efforts to morph into the KGB. What caught my attention however is this quote from one of the attendees:
"This isn’t going to stop me from downloading anything," whispered Samuel Hicks, 19, an incoming American University freshman from Creston, Calif., at the start of Morris’s presentation. "The servers are so decentralized, they’d have to do a lot of work to catch me."
Well, Samuel, when you get quoted in a national newspaper, complete with your current location, it becomes a hell of a lot easier to track you down. Good luck!
