I didn’t watch more than a couple minutes of the Emmy Awards last night, switching it off after stumbling on the lame segment with "real" people making the awards for best reality series (at least they gave it to the excellent Amazing Race). However, according to the morning paper, they gave lots of major awards to programs I actually like. The Daily Show certainly deserved both of their Emmys (Tom Shales, the lame Post TV critic, of course disagrees) as did Arrested Development, Sex and the City (on HBO, not the sliced and diced version on TBS) , The Sopranos, and Angels in America. There really is good TV out there if you know where to look.
