Lots of schools ban students from using phones.
However, the state of North Carolina is actually going to give smartphones to 250 9th graders as a tool to help them improve their math skills.
According to the press release, the phones will deliver supplemental materials and enable students to “talk with each other and tutors”.
This should be interesting to watch. I hope it isn’t just one more way for Qualcomm to sell products.
