A Very Taxing Spring Break

"Please, sir, I want some more." – Oliver Twist to the Master

"Thank you, sir! May I have another?" – Chip Diller (Kevin Bacon) to Doug Neidermeyer (Mark Metcalf) – Animal House

It’s interesting how vacations escape so quickly. This Spring Break week has seemed shorter and busier than a "normal" week. I managed to get caught up on some projects and even ahead on a couple, almost none of them related to work. It will be interesting to return to the routine tomorrow but I’m ready. I know there are a lot of changes coming in the last quarter of this school year so we may as well get them started.

For one of my big projects, I did manage to get my taxes done. However, on that subject I just have one question: where’s my tax cut?? I guess I must not be rich enough to fall into the group that gets one but I thought they had at least reduced the "marriage penalty". Maybe the software I used didn’t get W’s message about tax cuts.

I did try filing electronically this year even though I have some doubts about sending any electronic information to the federal government. It will be interesting to see how allowing the IRS to take the money we owe directly from the checking account goes. I may have to start begging on this page! :-)
