Ms. Frizzle has an open email to a New York City talk radio host that is an excellent expression of the frustration felt by many teachers when people who haven’t been in a K12 classroom in 20 years (when they graduated) criticize the job they’re doing. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with criticizing public education – we need an active and creative discussion. However, at least take the time to learn something beyond the cliches and stereotypes before you do. If you’re a teacher, and especially if you’re not, read what she has to say.
