It’s only been a few days and I already feel disconnected.

Friday, the cable guy (fortunately not named Larry and looking nothing like Jim Carrey) visited to install new phone service and when he left, we were cut off from the web.

After three calls to customer service, the first two of which promised the technician would return “within the hour”, it became pretty clear nothing would happen until Monday.

While free wireless at the public library and Panera (who knew they would be open on Easter?) helped, it’s a little disconcerting not being able to jump online whenever the desire strikes.

It probably also shows just how addicted I am to this narcotic called the internet.

Incidentally, if you live in an area served by Cox and you see their ads claiming “award winning” customer service, write them and ask who the hell is passing out those awards.

At least this is one motivation to be at the office early. :-)
