Who knew I was part of an international movement? Evidently yesterday was Buy Nothing Day, a protest against materialism, and I participated by refusing to go shopping. Of course, I hate shopping anyway so joining in was pretty easy.

If this particular event escaped your attention that’s not surprising. The organizers also hate advertising. It would also have been hard to hear about it since Buy Nothing Day coincides with Fur Free Friday, inflicted on you by those loud nut-balls at PETA. All in all an excellent day for staying away from stores of any kind.
