Tim Lauer has a great post spotlighting a cool new application of Google’s mapping tools. MyGuestmap lets you set up a world map on which your visitors can place an icon at their location along with a short message and a URL link.

Tim suggests that students could use the technology to create a map of their research into local neighborhood history. It would also be a great way for a class to keep track of the contacts they make during participation in an international project like Outside My Window. I’m sure creative teachers will find plenty other ways to use this new resource.
