Both sides in this year’s Virginia senatorial election are paying bloggers to write post supporting their candidate.

But is this really blogging?

No.

It’s nothing more than the kind of political editorializing writers and talking heads have been paid to do for decades or more. Including some who in recent elections work online in blog format.

However, the traditional media outlets have declared it to be “blogging”, so that’s how it will be viewed by the general public.

Even if it’s not.
