Unless you are a rabid fan of the TV show The Dukes of Hazzard from the early Reagan years, you probably didn’t even know there was a museum dedicated to the program and it’s characters. If you really want to visit, however, you’d better hurry. The shrine called Cooter’s Place is closing this month.
This memorial to a high water mark of American culture is located a short drive from Washington DC and was opened five years ago by Ben Jones who played a character on the show named Cooter. Oh, and Jones was also a two-term congressman from Georgia. More reminders that I live in a southern state. :-)
