Ok Go dropped a new music video a few weeks ago, performing the first single from their new album in 64 videos on 64 iPhones.
There’s no way to describe the production in words so spend a few minutes and watch it. It’s a good song as well.
At the end, you’re probably asking “how the hell did they do that?”. For the answer, you’ll need to watch the “behind the scenes” video.
And if all of that isn’t enough, I highly recommend the band’s 2017 TED Talk entitled “How to find a wonderful idea”. In it the lead singer and creative force Damian Kulash explains, with backing from the other members, a little of their process. Their imaginative and joyful approach has resulted in more than thirty increasingly complex videos over the past couple of decades. All worth watching.
Finally, if you teach, show these videos (and others from OK Go) to your students and challenge them to develop projects that express their ideas, musical or otherwise. Because we need more creativity in this world.
