Alexander over at This Week in Education notes that No Child Left Behind is an issue being discussed in at least one Congressional campaign this fall.

However, the focus seems to be one candidate using NCLB to illustrate how her opponent “aligned himself with the Bush White House” and how he let the amount of federal funds coming to the state drop.

I’d rather they have a real debate about the overall philosophy of the law and whether or not that approach is an effective way to improve public education in this country.

I agree being on the radar is a good thing. I just wish it was on there for the right reasons.
