Because I Said So, That’s Why!

According to the 9/11 Commission "We have no credible evidence that Iraq and al Qaeda cooperated on attacks against the United States". According to W "The reason I keep insisting that there was a relationship between Iraq and Saddam and al Qaeda: because there was a relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda".

If you remember, W and his parrot Cheney spent three hours in closed-door, no transcript, not-under-oath testimony before the commission last month. If they had evidence of a connection between the attacks of September 11, 2001 and Iraq, why didn’t they bring it with them? What, exactly, was the nature of the "relationship" that was serious enough to commit the country to war? Why don’t they let a few other people in on the secret?

I’d better stop asking questions before the Patriot Act kicks in.

  1. C’mon, Tim, you’re a smart fella. There is no contradiction between these two statements:

“No evidence that Iraq cooperated with al Qaeda in the 9-11 attacks”
    and
“There is a relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda.”
