Tim and Will both have entries about the new feature at Google Maps that allows anyone to create their own maps with unique markers and more.
Just click on the tab for My Maps, give it a title, and start placing your points. The description boxes will take plain text, rich text, or HTML. Couldn’t be easier.
You can even save a KML file to overlay the information on Google’s Earth application.
The only problem with this great addition is that I’m scheduled to do a workshop on Google Maps and Earth next Tuesday.
Now I’ll have to spend some time this weekend playing with the new tools so I can revise my notes.
