Slowing Down Big Brother

A federal judge ruled today that the warrantless wiretapping program so beloved by W and friends is unconstitutional and ordered an immediate halt to it.

The judge said the program violates the rights to free speech and privacy.

It’s nice that someone in authority thinks those things are important.

    Thank goodness the judge did it. I was watching Amistad earlier today, and couldn’t help but draw parallels. In the final speech, John Quincy Adams argues that the Court must overcome its prejudices and fears.

    How true. As a Nation, our greatest challenge is not overcoming the terrorists, but what our fear might entice us to do.
