Strong Words Set To Great Music

This headline is rather sad:

Neil Young writes anti-war album

It doesn’t say good things about this country when Neil needs to be singing about screwed up American wars forty years later.

Speaking of musicians with something to say, the Dixie Chicks are back and are not ready to temper their attitude either. And thank you for that!

I made my bed and I sleep like a baby
With no regrets and I don’t mind sayin’
It’s a sad sad story when a mother will teach her
Daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger
And how in the world can the words that I said
Send somebody so over the edge
That they’d write me a letter
Sayin’ that I better shut up and sing
Or my life will be over

Go listen to Not Ready To Make Nice from their new album. It’s coming May 23rd and will be the first physical CD I’ve bought in several years.
