We’ve been on Ronald Reagan overload all week in the DC area. Beyond the continuous retrospectives of the network and cable news (featuring any talking head alive during the 80’s), our local stations have been digging for every possible local connection, no matter how tenuous. Even the Washington Post, surely no favorite of the former President, has managed to publish three special sections on Reagan this week.

I’ve never understood the hero worship of Reagan by Republicans, to the point that now they want to rename the Pentagon for him and put his face on money. However, Kevin Drum has an excellent post with his thoughts on why Ronald Reagan is so revered by Conservatives – despite his rather mixed accomplishments as President and his relatively moderate approach to most issues. Kevin does a good job of putting things in perspective.
