The RIAA, working with Educause and the American Council on Education, has produced a video that is supposed to dissuade college students from illegally downloading music.

The video, titled “Campus Downloading,” could be used during student orientation sessions, linked to when students log on to campus accounts, or broadcasted on student life television channels.

Good luck with that.

The video is very preachy and quite obvious in pushing the agenda of the big media companies.

And profiling a student who’s life has been pretty well screwed at a very early age up by the RIAA’s lawyers isn’t going to win them any friends at colleges.
